Presidents Message

After a long and testing absence it is with great delight and anticipation that Monkstown F.C. is returning to the All-Ireland-League. I, along with fellow members look forward to renewing old acquaintances the length and breadth of the Country.

Last season’s promotion was built on team effort led by Head Coach Paddy Thornton, Club captain Tony McGinnis and Co- Directors of Rugby, Brian Hogan and Dave Mahon together with all the Management Team.

Can I wish all our players, management and coaches a successful, safe and enjoyable season ahead.

Our club is fast approaching 150 years in existence and through a series of ongoing initiatives under the banner, Towards 150, Monkstown is re-energising its focus to be a sustainable community based club for all.

As we look to the future I am pleased to say that our minis section is thriving with more than 300 girls and boys out every Sunday morning making the most of our great facilities. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and energetic team of coaches and volunteers led by Alan O’Brien, James Ferris, and Maurice Murphy.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in running our club. From those who look after us so well in the bar, to those who take care of our pavilion and grounds, and the many volunteers who go above and beyond in their service to the club.

A sincere thanks to our sponsors whose ongoing support is crucial to the club's future and success.

I am conscious of the big shoes that I have to fill as President of this great club. It is thanks to those who held office in the past that we have endured and thrived.
